Russia Targets Jewish Life in Ukraine

Russia has imposed harsh laws and policies against evangelical Christians and religious minorities—especially Jews—in occupied areas of Ukraine. These measures, driven by extremist religious rhetoric, have deeply disrupted Jewish life and spiritual freedom. Inside Russia, religious identity remains largely superficial, marked by low participation and growing disinterest. In contrast, Ukraine’s people, enduring constant missile and drone attacks, have grown stronger in faith, with many turning more deeply to their churches and traditions amid the war.
